Professional Conduct and Ethics for Oregon CPAs

Audience: CPAs. This 4 hour live course is approved by the Oregon State Board of Accountancy for four hours of professional ethics credit. This course is appropriate for CPAs employed in business and industry as well as those engaged in public practice.

Level: Review/Update

Description: Topics include the Public Accountancy Act, Board rules, and prohibited practices. This live course meets the Oregon State Board of Accountancy requirements for four hours of professional conduct and ethics credit. The course and materials have been developed to fulfill Board of Accountancy requirements. BrownBagCPE is registered as a sponsor with the Oregon State Board of Accountancy to provide CPE Ethics training.

Approved: by the Oregon State Board of Accountancy as meeting the minimum requirements of Oregon Administrative Rule 801-040-0010 which requires a four-hour course in the subject area of professional ethics with specific application to the practice of public accounting in Oregon.

Risky Business: How to Avoid Lawsuits

Audience: CPAs and other financial professionals with private practices who wish to minimize their legal liability exposure.

Level: Basic

Description: Lawsuits against CPAs and other financial professionals are increasingly common. Even winning comes with a substantial cost in lost time and legal fees. This course focuses on learning strategies and techniques for avoiding lawsuits in the first place. Through examining actual lawsuits and learning risk reducing strategies, this course teaches how you can reduce your exposure to lawsuits from both clients and third parties.
